There are so many truly talent people out there that "Sell" there services, so many that aren't even sensitive that run scams...and make those that are look bad and bring out the pessimist in so many peole. People that don't believe in ghosts, demons, things that go bump in the night and the people that can sense and feel them, predict and feel empathy.
It's not always easy for a lot of those people to talk about their experiences. Not all of them are very comfortable to admit that they talked to or saw a real ghost, or actually felt "Death" seconds before or days before a relative or close friend died. Or had dreams that told of what was to happen. They either are worried that others will look at them as if they're crazy, or they're worried their crazy themselves. And in some cases, people that are just as talented would love to crush them straight into the ground.
That's one reason why I love Supernatural so much. Hollywood has of course pushed the boundaries a bit TOO much, but the attention to detail on a lot of things is staggering, and it brings to light a lot of good points on the experiences that many people share...like the children that are all like Sam, and how confused and scared they all are when they start experiencing things. In reality, it's not always so simple to admit when these things start happening to you. It takes time to accept that part of you, and it's scary as H&$@. Trust me, I know.
